Dr Kingori has become a household figure in Kenya as the flamboyant media personality and host of the smash show "The Wicked Edition" on NTV.
With his quick wit and intelligent analysis, he has grabbed audiences and solidified his spot as one of the country's most prominent media figures.
But his achievement results from tenacity, overcoming poverty and defying the odds.
Dr Kingori recently revealed his extraordinary tale as part of the Engage series, following his road from humble origins to becoming the host of Kenya's longest-running TV show.
He talked about his mother's desire for him to become a doctor and the difficulties they encountered as a family.

"My mother always hoped I could become a doctor," said Dr. Kingori. "She saw it as a chance for us to break free from poverty." She realized there was a ceiling she couldn't cross as a casual worker in two hospitals without additional qualification."
Dr Kingori experienced numerous challenges growing up in poverty, which he overcame through creativity and persistence.
He recalled a day in primary school when he couldn't afford new shoes and had to settle for his mother's high-heeled boots.
"I remember when I was in grade seven, I almost went to school without shoes because my shoes were so worn out," Dr Kingori remarked, "but creativity was tested." I wore my mother's shoes to school and recalled the pair well. "They were high-heeled boots."
"You see how people talk about, 'Oh, it's men who originally wore high heels in the 17th century!'" he said. "Don't go back that far; I was wearing high heels in the mid-2000s."
Dr Kingori was offered a chance after performing well in his elementary school examinations, which appeared to be a stepping stone to his mother's ambition. Nguviu Boys High School, one of the province's top three high schools, accepted him.
"This was a significant accomplishment for my mother." "We were one step closer to realizing her dream," he explained. "The plan was for me to excel in high school, and then the government would take control and send me to medical school."
But Dr Kingori's life had other plans. He chose a totally different path, which brought him into media and entertainment.
His show, The Wicked Edition, immediately became famous for its satirical take on current events and ability to provide a platform for vital discussions.
The Wicked Edition is now Kenya's longest-running television show, a testament to Dr Kingori's talent and ability to connect with his audience.
