Police on Thursday recovered the body of a 38-year-old man found dumped in Rwamuthambi River in Mutithi, Kirinyaga County.
The body was recovered after two boys who discovered it, notified the area's assistant chief.
Police suspect the man was murdered elsewhere before his lifeless body was discarded at the waterfall.
According to Citizen Digital, Muthigi Assistant Chief Christine Muthoni Macharia said after locals retrieved the man's body from the river, police found identification documents on his person.
"The man hails from Ndimi sub-location in Inoi location, Kirinyaga Central constituency according to the documents that were found on him," Gathoni said.

Confirming the incident, Mwea West sub-county Police Commander Mbatian Kantai noted that police have since launched investigations into the incident.
The body has been moved to Kerugoya County Referral Hospital for storage pending post-mortem.
