Residents of Mukuru slums are still in shock after nine human bodies were recovered from a dumpsite in the area on Friday afternoon.
According to a post by Mukuru Community Justice Center, youths in the area have recovered bodies and several bodies wrapped in sacks in a quarry pit opposite Kware police station. They added that the search is still on for more bodies from the dump site.

The discovery of the bodies has caused outrage amongst Kenyans who have been campaigning against police brutality and calling for the firing of the inspector general of police, Japheth Koome.
"Fuck man, Ruto lied that only 1 person died in Githurai but so many bodies have been retrieved from a quarry opposite Kware police station. What did we do to deserve this honestly 😭" one user posted
"William Ruto lied about the Githurai Massacre and now we are seeing bodies being retrieved from a quarry. Some bodies are in sacks chopped into pieces. More than 6 bodies have been retrieved so far. #RutoMustGo now ! He has gone way too far!" another user added.
"Bodies are being retrieved in Githurai from pits. Anyone missing their family member should go to Githurai and check. Ruto, Kithure Kindiki, IG Koome and Adamson Bungei must go to the ICC for Human Rights violations. They can't kill us and lead us."
