Former Gender CS Aisha Jumwa and ex-nominated Senator Millicent Omanga have secured prominent State positions in the latest appointments announced by President William Ruto.

In a gazette notice issued on Friday, January 17, 2025, Jumwa was named the non-executive Chairperson of the Kenya Roads Board for a three-year term, replacing Ahmed Kolosh Mohamed. Jumwa, dismissed as Cabinet Secretary in July 2024, steps into her new role under the Kenya Roads Board Act, as detailed in the President’s statement.

George Wanga was appointed as the non-executive Chairperson of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), succeeding Jackton Boma Ojwang. Similarly, former Tarbaj MP Mohamed Ibrahim Elmi was named Chairperson of the National Livestock Development and Promotion Service for three years.

Defense CS Soipan Tuya selected Millicent Omanga as a Kenya Shipyards Limited Board of Directors member, effective January 14, 2025.

Allan Kosgey, who vied for the Nandi gubernatorial seat under the UDA party in 2022, was appointed as the non-executive Chairperson of the Kenya Industrial Property Institute by newly appointed Trade CS Lee Kinyanjui.

President Ruto also made notable changes to the Public Service Commission (PSC). Mary Wanjira Kimonye was appointed Vice-Chairperson for six years, while former IEBC Commissioner Boya Molu and six others – Harun Maalim Hassan, Mwanamaka Amani Mabruki, Francis Meja, Dr. Irene Cherotich Asienga, Joan Andisi Machayo, and Dr. Francis Otieno Owino – joined as members.
