A Baby shower equips a mom to be with what she will need when the baby arrives. There are no set rules as to who should plan a baby shower, who’s invited, or what theme to use but it is always preferred that people to be involved are family and very close friends of the expectant mother.

It is good to note that to the event planner, a baby shower can create a lot of stress. When deciding how to plan a baby shower, you’re probably overwhelmed with everything.

A slight mistake in the plan can ruin everything. This is why you find organizing a baby shower can be tricky, particularly if you’re doing it for a relative or a close friend.

First and foremost, decide on who should host the baby shower, and again, always prepare a To-Do- List for the baby shower. This is the pillar of everything in this particular event.

Who Should Host the Baby Shower?

Mostly, baby showers are set in a way to surprise the mother-to-be in a case where friends or relatives are not involving her. At times, some parents-to-be; prefer to plan everything themselves. This way, it is not uncommon for the expectant mom to take control entirely though.

Plan a Date and Time

Take time and plan the date and time carefully. Don’t arrange a baby shower with a one-week notice. Consult with the parents-to-be about the best date. Ensure you give yourself ample room to get everything ready.

Do not go beyond the seven-month mark

Baby showers are generally held toward the end of pregnancy when the mother is about seven months along. Throwing the shower around the seven-month mark means that the mother-to-be has time to organize the gifts. She won’t need to rush out to get any items that she still needs.

Focus on Making her comfortable

You want the mom-to-be to feel comfortable and enjoy the baby shower. Labor pains or unexpected scenarios can be most likely when it’s past the 7th month. This can be regrettable.

 Determine a Budget

Budget is the main determining factor when planning a baby shower. It should be able to cover food, venue, seating, decorations, potential games, and so on. Low-budget parties generally call for a short guest list or you must cut back on luxuries like catering.

Sometimes you can be short of funds. It’s entirely possible to throw an amazing, low-budget baby shower. This could be an intimate affair for the mother-to-be and her close friends and family.

Consider how long your guest list should be before you settle on a budget. Consult with your mother-to-be about who should be there.

There’s no limit as to how long the guest list should be. However, keep in mind that baby showers are generally an intimate event.'

Select a venue

A small budget and guest list might not require a venue since such showers can easily be held in the backyard, or at home, in the living room if space allows.

If you don’t have a large house or backyard, one of your close friends or relatives might help. Consider asking them if it’s okay to throw the shower there. Just remember that they should be on the guest list!

Before sending out invitations, you should have a venue or location booked. Consider the date you’ve decided to host the party. Is it during the summer, spring, fall, or winter?
