Esteemed journalist Mwanaisha Chidzuga emerges as a significant victor in the recent governmental appointments, securing a prominent role in President William Ruto's administration.

Chidzuga is now designated as the Deputy Government Spokesperson, according to the announcements made on Wednesday.
Formerly a news anchor for KTN News and K24, she will serve as the deputy to Isaac Mwaura, who has taken on the position of the new Government Spokesperson, succeeding Colonel (Rtd) Cyrus Oguna.

During the pinnacle of her media career, Chidzuga stood as one of the foremost Swahili news anchors in the nation. However, following her abrupt departure from KTN News, her influence began to wane.

In the lead-up to the 2022 general election, Chidzuga, who is married to Tana River County Senator Danson Mungatana, vied for the Matuga MP seat under the UDA party banner. Unfortunately, she was unsuccessful in her bid, losing to the incumbent, Kassim Tandaza of ANC.
Hailing from a politically inclined family, the seasoned media personality is deeply rooted in politics. Her late mother, Zainabu Chidzuga, notably served as the inaugural Kwale County Women Representative. However, she lost the seat in 2017.

Following her less successful foray into politics, Chidzuga made a comeback to the media industry. She took on a role as a news anchor at TV47.
