Moses Kuria, the incoming Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS), has generated a lot of rumors on social media because he still uses his Ministry of Trade profile image.

Despite his recent shift, Kuria's profile photo on his official Twitter account still shows him as the Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry leader.

Kuria made an unexpected move on Wednesday night, October 4, 2023, which led to his perplexing decision to preserve his old profile image.

He published a picture of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua shortly after being transferred from the Trade Ministry without updating the description and leaving it up to the general public to interpret.

Although the motivation behind this post is unknown, it is essential to know that Kuria and Deputy President Gachagua have lately engaged in a public argument.

Speaking in Siaya County in September, CS Moses Kuria challenged Deputy President Gachagua's claim that positions in the government were only open to adherents of the Kenya Kwanza movement.

Kuria said that, regardless of ethnicity or political views, Kenya was for everyone.

Despite these disagreements, Deputy President Gachagua has insisted that CS Kuria is not a problem for him and has rejected calls for Kuria to be removed from office.

A further statement made by CS Kuria that some Kenyans felt disrespectful—that fuel prices will climb further till February 2024—attracted attention.

President William Ruto then called for his resignation or dismissal due to this.

Nevertheless, Deputy President Gachagua denied hostility between him and the Trade CS and emphasized their cordial working relationship.

"Yesterday, I read in the newspapers reports of a dispute that Moses Kuria and I would engage in on the mountain (the Mount Kenya region). He is one of our employees; I am the Vice President. He asked, " Can an employer and employee disagree?

There was no rift between them, as Deputy President Gachagua reaffirmed that he would not permit Mr. Kuria to be removed from office.
