President William Ruto has begun a four-day official trip to the Nyanza region. He is set to launch several development projects in Kisumu, Homa Bay, Siaya, and Migori counties in line with his government's Bottom-Up approach.
The head of state is expected to lay the groundwork for the Ksh.1 billion Kabonyo Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Centre of Excellence in the Nyando constituency in Kisumu.
He will also open the Lake Basin Mall and launch the MV Uhuru 2, a ship that will operate on Lake Victoria and improve regional trade.

In a statement to newsrooms, State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed said that the President will launch the upgrading to the Bitumen standard of the 27km Bondo-Uyawi-Kibanga-Liunda Road and a digital laboratory at Mutumbu Technical Training Institute in Siaya County.
He added that The President will launch the construction of a Level 4 hospital in the Ugenya constituency, a vital step towards enhancing healthcare Infrastructure in the region.
The Head of State will officially off construction of the 53km Mfangano Island Ring route and upgrade the 74km Mbita-Sindo-Kiabuya-Sori route to bitumen standards in Homa Bay.
He will also visit the Victory Fish Farms in Sindo and begin the repair of the Homa Bay Pier and other piers in the area, including the Kendu Bay, Mbita, and Asembo Bay Piers, to improve marine transit and tourism.
"In Migori, the President will commission Uriri Hospital, strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the county," Mohamed stated.
"He will also launch the construction of the Mabera affordable Housing project in Kuria West constituency, a multifaceted project that addresses housing needs and community development."
Before chairing a Cabinet meeting in the Kisumu State Lodge, Ruto will undertake similar discussions with leaders from the four counties.
