Moses Kuria has officially handed the Industry, Trade, and Investments Cabinet portfolio to Rebecca Miano, a docket he has held for eleven months.

Among eight Cabinet Secretaries, President William Ruto moved the two in changes announced by Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei on October 4.

Miano held the East African and Regional Development docket.

The changes moved Kuria to the Ministry of Public Service Performance and Delivery Management.

Speaking during the handover, Kuria said he had set the country on the trajectory of economic revival while he was the CS for Trade.

Kuria noted that the wheels of production had “started rolling: as investors are ready industrialize the country from all corners through Cunty Aggregation and Industrial Parks (CAIPs).

“It has been 11 months marathon for me and my team at the ministry of Investments Trade and Industry (MITI) as I redrafted and aligned the ministry to our Kenya Kwanza administration agenda. I have done the foundation and put this country into an Economic revival and take off,” Kuria said.

“The trade negotiations and investment partnership that we’ve initiated from all parts of the world like Indonesia, US, UAE, Saudi Arabia and others, will see this country move from an importing one to an export Giant.”

Further, Kuria said he had full confidence in the team that he was leaving behind, knowing they will continue with the dream that they had.

“I thank my Boss His Excellency President William Ruto for the new role he has assigned to me as the CS for Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management where I’ll take a lead role as the coordinator of all inter-ministrial projects and unlock any walls that would be interfering with a speedy delivery of services and projects to Kenyans,” he said.

Miano said she was honored to lead the trade docket.

“I understood his (Kuria’s) dream and I look forward to working with the team he leaves behind. I have a lot to learn but I am upbeat that with their support, we will take our country to the next level,” she said.
