Five people died on Tuesday night in an accident involving a bus, tractor, and a trailer along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway in the Kambu area in Kibwezi, Makueni County.
According to the Kibwezi Sub-county police commander Peter Maina, several others sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at the Kibwezi Sub-county Hospital and the Makindu Sub-county Hospital.
Confirming the accident, he said the bus was traveling from Nairobi to Mombasa when it hit a tractor and veered, colliding with an oncoming truck.
