According to Acting County Secretary Patrick Analo, the action was taken by City Hall enforcers with the assistance of police against the private developers who had encroached in the parcel.

“The land in question is County Government land for development of public facilities for use by local residents. The prime parcel of land was surrendered & set aside for development of public amenities which includes market, school, hospital, health facility, football pitch and social hall,” he said.

“Private developers had since developed two petrol stations, car bazaars, eateries, beauty shops, pharmacies, and other businesses.”
