Riokindo Boys High School in Kisii County has been closed indefinitely after a fire broke out on Tuesday evening, razing three dormitories.
According to the school principal Gerald Orina, the fire started while students were in classrooms for their evening studies, and property worth Kes 4 million was lost.
Further, he said there was a power blackout and the incident took place when it came back.
“No student was injured, all our students were in class,” he confirmed.
In addition, he said they had to close the school to allow accommodation for the Form 4 to sit for their National exams.
