Cleophas Malala, the secretary general of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), has disclosed a new development in the ongoing party leadership dispute at the Nairobi County Assembly.

This is happening at the same time that UDA MCAs in Nairobi are attempting to remove Minority Leader Antony Kiragu and Minority Whip Mark Mugambi by putting forward Waithera Chege and Joyce Muthoni, respectively, in their place.

Malala pledged at the time to accept the MCA's ruling, provided that they had submitted signatures supporting their candidacy, and the Speaker had given her approval.

In light of recent events, Malala has reported that the MCAs have lodged multiple complaints with the party, claiming that their signatures on the resolution to remove the minority whip and minority leader were falsified.

A portion of a statement on Wednesday stated, "We are in receipt of sworn affidavits by the respective members to that effect."

Malala now claims that the issue will be settled at a consultative meeting that is planned to take place at the party headquarters on Thursday, October 26.

By the court order, he added that the current Minonty leadership continues in their current capacity.

"The Party is keen to resolve the matter amicably, hence the consultative session."
