On October 25, 59 out of 69 Meru County MCAs impeached Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza. This Marked the second time for the governor's impeachment.

On his official page, Public Service CS Moses Kuria has voiced his support for the impeached Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza. In a statement, Kuria emphasized that the impeachment marks a significant struggle for the leadership of Mt. Kenya.

"I stand with Governo4 Kawira Mwangaza. This is an evil scheme by someone who thinks that the only way to be a Mt Kenya Kingpin is to bring down other leaders not to solve the problems of our people who are getting desperate by the day. History will vindicate me," he said.

The 10-hour motion debated to eject the governor was brought by Majority Leader Evans Mawira.

"At this juncture, it is my pleasure to announce the ayes have it. The motion has passed and the governor stands impeached by the County Assembly of Meru," Meru County Assembly Speaker Ayub Bundi
