Three Aimi Ma Lukenya Society leaders who were arraigned in connection with the disputed East African Portland cement land in Mavoko, Machakos County, will be held in police custody for another six days until the conclusion of investigations.
On Wednesday, Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe granted the prosecution's application, stating that there are compelling reasons to hold the three to let the investigators to conclude their investigations.
"I have to consider the victims and the public interest." "I believe this is one of those cases of public interest....if the DCI can ravel what happened, they should be given time to investigate," the court stated.

The issue will be discussed next week, on October 31st.
On Monday, the prosecution informed the court that three officials, Julius Mutua (chairman), Pascal Kiseli (treasurer), and secretary Alex Kyalo Mutemi, are being probed for conspiracy to cheat and collect money via pretenses.
"The investigations are in their preliminary stages and would like more time," the court was told earlier.
According to the court, the complainant in the lawsuit is the Managing Director of East African Portland, and verifications must be completed.
On its side, the defense had requested the court to deny the application, claiming that the accused were not a flight risk and were leaders in society.
