Over 20 armed bandits struck again in Baringo County, ambushing herders tending to their livestock at Nenteiyo hills in Kiserian.
According to area chief George Gateiya, the bandits shot at herders. They attempted to steal their animals at the grazing field before engaging in a gunfight with GSU police from Kiserian, who reacted to the distress cries.
According to Chief Gateiya, the gunfight lasted more than 30 minutes before the assailants were overcome and fled to the Chepkalacha district of Tiaty Sub-county.

Tensions are high in the area just a day after the same criminals launched another daring banditry raid in the Kapindasum area for about six hours before being thwarted.
Area leaders who visited the Kapindasum area, led by Baringo South MP Charles Kamuren, County Woman Rep Florence Jematia, and Senator William Cheptumo, condemned the incident and demanded that the security apparatus investigate two private choppers, one blue and one white, suspected of supplying bandits with bullets.
The event is the latest in a string of disturbed and hazardous bandit attacks in the area, which prompted the deployment of a multi-agency security squad to combat banditry.
