Embakasi East MP Babu Owino reveals that the disputed 1,000 acres of land in Njiru, Nairobi, do not belong to late Starehe MP Gerishon Kirima but to an Italian man.

Owino told journalists in Nairobi that the land's original owner was an Italian national who bought it from a man of Indian blood in 1966.

Babu Owino also states that the Italian national died, but that the land title was passed down to his son after his death. According to Owino, the heir-apparent is currently in Nairobi.

"The said land in question with an original LR NO 5908/8/1 and LR NO 5908/5/3 does not belong to Kirima neither does it belong to his family," he claimed.

"I'm here with relevant documents proving the original owner of the aforementioned parcel of land, and we've gone the extra mile by bringing this person all the way from Italy." He is currently in Kenya as we speak."

Following the sale of the land to the deceased Italian national, Owino continued to read an indenture, which he claimed was granted by the High Court.

"I hereby certify that the above-written grant of representation has been confirmed by the court pursuant to the provisions of Section 71 of the laws of Succession Act dated at Nairobi this 31/1/2011," the alleged High Court document reads, according to Owino.

While adding that they will petition the Environment and Lands Court verdict alongside the heir-apparent, Owino was adamant that Kirima's kin present paperwork confirming their claims to the land.

"The transfer form must be produced before a competent court of law, and we must have proof of payment because if this land was sold to Kirima, then proof of payment is required." Without any of them, all of the assertions are just hot air."
