A teacher in the Gikambura area of Kiambu County has been charged for circulating information about Kenya Certificate Primary Examination (KCPE) papers.

The accused, Nicholas Ngumbau, aka ‘examiner,’ was charged before Senior Principal Magistrate Benard Ochoi, where he denied the offense.

The prosecution says he posted KCPE examination papers on his WhatsApp and Telegram platforms.

The court ordered him to deposit a cash bail of Kes 100 000 plus one contact person or provide a bond of Kes 200 000 with two sureties.

The accused was arrested on October 26 and is said to have opened 10 WhatsApp accounts and telegram.

The arrest and arraignment of the accused in court comes at a time when the national examination has started.
