One hundred seventy-nine adult learners are among the 30,421 candidates sitting for the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education(KCPE) in 691 examination centers in Kajiado County.
The national examinations which began on Monday will see 28,878 Grade 6 candidates sit for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment examinations (KPSEA) in 858 exam centres.
Kajiado County Commissioner Jude Wasonga noted that all logistical and security measures had been put in place to guarantee the safety and credibility of the national examinations.
Wasonga revealed that adequate security personnel had been deployed in all distribution and examination centers to safeguard the papers and ensure that no unauthorized persons accessed the exams.
“All systems are in place to ensure the delivery of credible examinations; we are adequately prepared for the KCPE and KPSEA examinations, which commenced today until Wednesday.”

1,415,315 candidates are sitting for this year’s KCPE examinations countrywide. The candidates will be the last to sit for the exams under the 8-4-4 system.
Similarly, 1,282,574 Grade six pupils nationwide are sitting for this year’s KPSEA exams.
