The government has relocated candidates within the Boni area sitting for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams to Faza Primary and Mokowe Arid Zone Primary Schools, respectively, to ensure that no student misses out on examinations.
According to Lamu County Commissioner Louis Ronoh, 60 candidates from the Bargoni area will have their exams in Mokowe Arid due to prior contingency plans being made over El Nino rains fears.
However, he stated that adequate security had been provided across the county, with those from Milimani, Barsuba, and Mangai set to sit for their exams in Faza Primary, where they were airlifted by KDF yesterday.
“Adequate plans have been made to ensure that all candidates from the wider Boni area are housed and fed throughout the exam period,” he said.
Moreover, he stated that the government is committed to ensuring a 100 percent transition for all students across the county and urged parents to be keen on making sure that their children sit for all their papers.
