He emphasized 5G technology's ability to bridge the digital divide in underprivileged places, enhance access to key services like healthcare, and drive economic growth by connecting small enterprises to new prospects.

"As a digital lifestyle enabler, we are excited about a 5G future because it will allow us to bridge the digital divide in underserved communities, provide access to critical services like healthcare, and spur economic growth by connecting small businesses to new opportunities." "By expanding 5G coverage, we are improving Kenya's best internet network and empowering our customers to begin exploring the possibilities of 5G," he explained.

The mobile service provider is also providing an option for qualifying consumers to sign an 18-month contract and obtain access to the 5G router for free.

The advent of 5G services has increased Wi-Fi volumes for residential consumer packages, providing a choice of data alternatives.

Customers now have the option of purchasing 400GB for Ksh.3,499, 800GB for Ksh.5,999, or 1500GB for Ksh.9,999.

"5G Wi-Fi for business offers unlimited packages starting at Ksh.4,000 for 10 Mbps in response to the different needs for a business for always-on connectivity," the statement said.

Safaricom has also teamed with Huawei to develop three 5G experience centers that will offer virtual reality gaming zones, smart home and enterprise solutions, and speed-testing booths, allowing Kenyans to personally experience the capabilities of 5G, according to the mobile service provider.

Furthermore, the communications behemoth has launched 5G data packages, allowing over 500,000 users with 5G devices to experience ultra-fast surfing speeds.

New 5G subscribers can also get a free 5GB data bundle via the My Safaricom App, making the switch to 5G even more tempting.

Bomet, Busia, Isiolo, Kitui, Mandera, Migori, Tharaka-Nithi, Trans Nzoia, Homa Bay, West Pokot, Embu, Kirinyaga, Muranga, and Turkana are among the counties where 5G is currently available in select towns.
