Four years after Vera Beauty College student Emma Wanyota was killed, the Eldoret High Court has ruled that the main suspect, Mustafa Idd, is guilty of murder.

In a ruling on Thursday, Judge Reuben Nyakundi said Mustafa was responsible for the murder of the 21-year-old student.

Emma's body was found at her home, badly mutilated and with missing parts. It is alleged that she was raped before her legs were chopped off on September 30, 2019.

In testimony after the incident, the victim's sister, Sheila Wanyotta, said Mustafa was well-known to them and was Emmah's ex-boyfriend.

"After parting ways with my sister in August, he has been threatening her and also all the male contacts in her phonebook," she stated.

Mustafa's sentencing will be on November 22, 2023.
