One person is dead and two more are injured in a collision involving three vehicles that happened near Tsavo River along Mombasa Highway.

A trailer, a canter, and another car were all involved in the collision.

Joram Maina, the commander of Kibwezi Sub County Police, verified that the deceased was the canter's driver.

The canter driver was headed to Mombasa when he tried to pass another car, which led to a head-on collision with a trailer headed to Nairobi.

The canter entered the wrong lane and obstructed the path of approaching cars, resulting in a direct hit-and-run with a trailer. The Police Commander stated, "Then the trailer struck another car."

After being taken to Mtito Andei Hospital for emergency care, the two injured parties were moved to Makindu Hospital for additional care.

The deceased person's body has been moved to the Kaambu Mortuary in the interim.

The authorities have launched an investigation into the accident.

Police Commander Maina has advised all drivers to drive with extra caution, especially during the current rainy season when the roads can become dangerous.
