Moses Kuria, the cabinet secretary for public service, believes that there is no one who can stand in the way of his strong relationship with Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio.
Speaking on Wednesday, October 8, on Citizen TV's JKLive Show, Kuria claimed that his disagreements with Raila are only political in nature because they get along well outside of politics.
"How on earth could someone stand in the way of my relationship with Raila Odinga? You will be foolish if you attempt to sabotage my friendship with Raila Odinga, as he is my friend, Kuria declared.
Kuria claimed that the anti-government demonstrations, which were wrecking the economy, were the cause of his public disagreements with Raila in July.

Kuria took a firm stand against the protests spearheaded by Azimio la Umoja because he believed they were significantly interfering with Kenya's economy, which was one of his areas of responsibility at the time.
As you say, we were in the middle of our politics, or maandamano. Kuria remarked, "I only said what I said about those people who were demonstrating."
Moses Kuria had previously boasted of having a thirty-year relationship with the Odinga family, having been helped by Jaramogi Oginga Odinga in 1994 when he was facing expulsion from university.
The Public Service CS also talked about his absence from a trade meeting in July that was held at the State House to discuss a trade agreement between Kenya and the US and was attended by US Trade Representative Ambassador Katherine Tai.
Then, it was claimed that because of his public behavior, Kuria was subject to US sanctions.
Kuria, on the other hand, claims that his feelings regarding the protests were unrelated to the advice from the US embassy.
He claimed that the miscommunication was started by Ambassador Tai.
“The US Representative has been a great friend of mine right from day one. When she came here, we were in the middle of our politics and maandamano and somebody did not like what I said about those people who were demonstrating and the American embassy gave that advisory that they don't want to deal with me," Kuria said.
