Heavy rains and windstorms continue to cause havoc and destruction in Kasipul Constituency, Homa Bay County, leaving families seeking shelter elsewhere.
The rains and severe winds forced the residents to flee their houses and seek refuge in the villages neighboring Nyatwere East village in Kachien North Sub Location.
After their houses were blown off by severe winds during the incident, the majority of the afflicted families spent the night outside in the cold.

According to Area Assistant Chief Charles Obondo, the rains also affected Nyatwere Primary School; however, no injuries were reported.
Heavy floods washed away their belongings, residences, and crop farms Friday evening.
Speaking on behalf of the community, the administrator requested rescue assistance from the National and County Governments to resettle the affected households.
