Makini Schools has announced closing its ‘Makini Kibos Campus’ due to poor roads leading to the school in Muhoroni Constituency.
Makini Schools Regional Managing Director Horace Mpanza said the decision is borne out of concerns raised by parents and guardians regarding the difficulty of accessing the school.
Mpanza said the Grade 7 learners, the last lot in the school, currently completing their academic year at Makini Schools Kibos Campus, will join Grade 8 at the school’s Kisumu City Campus in January next year with seamless continuity to the learning calendar.
The institution secured a space initially occupied by Bhayani Nursery and Primary School, where they now intend to relocate classes from Kibos.
“ We have made significant investment in the facilities, and we are able to accommodate our growing population of learners and teachers,” said Mpanza.

Mpanza said they will introduce Grades 7 and 8 at its new location.
“At Makini Schools we uphold our commitment to providing the best learning environment for our learners and to creating an enriching experience for our entire community and this includes listening and responding to the concerns of our parents and guardians,” he said.
However, he said the Kibos School will remain a Makini Schools facility, as they look forward to reopening it when improved roads will make it more easily accessible for our community.
The Mamboleo-Kibos-Miwani-Muhoroni road has remained in a sorry state for several decades, with the Jubilee government 2022 awarding a contract for the construction of the road.
