Police are investigating the death of a middle-aged Boda boda operator whose body was found inside a pit latrine near St. Pantaleon Catholic Parish in Siaya town on Tuesday night.

Confirming the incident, Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo said the man’s body was discovered lying in a pool of blood, and he is suspected to have been murdered by unknown people before the body was stuffed inside the pit latrine.

Kiamiyo further noted that the body, which had deep cuts all over the head, was discovered by one Alex Owino Okong’o, who raised the alarm before the police visited the scene.

He said that the body was removed to Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary to await postmortem and identification, adding that investigations have already begun into the matter.

“At the scene, the officers were not able to establish the identity of the boda boda rider. Investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations are ongoing and any developments will be communicated.”
