Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu released the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination results on Thursday.

Between October 30 and November 1, about 1,406 559 applicants took their KCPE exams and around 1.2 million took their KPSEA exams (Grade 6), signaling the end of the 8-4-4 education system in primary schools.

Candidates will receive results by texting their index number and KCPE to the code 40054. They would be charged Ksh. 25 for each SMS sent.

Some 8,523 candidates received more than 400 points, while 352,782 received between 300 and 399 points. There were 658,278 candidates in the 200-299 group, with 38,3025 others scoring between 100 and 199.

260 people received less than 99 points.

Headteachers of respective schools can collect their students' KCPE results at sub-county education centres and download and print them from the KNEC web portal (www.knec-portal.ac.ke).
