In an attempt to withdraw Kisumu County Assembly Member (MCA) Regina Kizito's nomination, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party was dealt a setback when the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPTD) declared that the procedure used to remove her was unlawful.

In his decision, PPDT Presiding Judge Willy Mutubwa overturned the ODM party's decision to suspend Ms. Kizito.

Additionally, Justice Mutubwa declared that the Kisumu County Assembly's decision to bar her from House sessions was unlawful and unconstitutional.

The Assembly's youth representative, MCA Kizito, praised the tribunal's ruling, stating that justice had finally been served. She also said that she will focus on leading the House's youth agenda.

Following a communication from the ODM party, Kizoto was one of four nominated MCAs suspended from all Kisumu County Assembly functions after the National Executive Council (NEC) decided to remove them.

Peter Obaso, Kennedy Ajwang, and Carolyne Opar were the others.
