Elon Musk says he will visit Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Monday, along with Israelis whose relatives are being held by Hamas in Gaza.

On Sunday night, Herzog's office confirmed the meeting, saying, "In their meeting, the president will emphasise the need to act to combat rising antisemitism online."

Musk, a billionaire who also owns Tesla (TSLA.O) and SpaceX, did not reply to requests for comment via Tesla and X.

Musk's visit comes with a four-day cease-fire in Israel's fight with Palestinian Hamas terrorists in Gaza, during which 40 of the 240 hostages held by Hamas have been released.

According to Israel's Channel 12, Musk will meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday. His office did not respond immediately.

After weeks of criticism over antisemitic content on X, Netanyahu met Musk in California on September 18 and asked him to strike a compromise between safeguarding free expression and combating hate speech.

Musk responded by declaring he was opposed to antisemitism and anything that "promotes hate and conflict," confirming his prior remarks that X would not encourage hate speech.

Before the war, roughly 200 individuals protested Netanyahu's right-wing government's efforts to limit the powers of Israeli courts. They gathered in front of Tesla's California factory, where the meeting was held.

Then, on November 15, Musk concurred with a post on X that falsely claimed Jews were inciting hatred against white people, claiming the user who mentioned the "Great Replacement" conspiracy theory was articulating "the actual truth."

The White House criticized the "abhorrent promotion of antisemitic and racist hatred," which "runs counter to our core values as Americans."
