Seven terror suspects were arrested following a multi-agency operation led by officials from the Kenya Police and Directorate of Criminal Investigations Siaya, the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) from Busia.
According to the police incident report, the multi-agency team stormed Hawinga and Uranga regions in Siaya county in search of terror suspects after receiving an intelligence report and succeeded in apprehending the first six.
Several weapons, including two pangas, one rungu, three knives, and Islamic literature, were found by the suspects during the operations.
The team expanded operations to the Nyandorera area of Udamayi village, where they apprehended one more suspect and recovered several Islamic literature and writings, an Arafat shawl, an Islamic hut, a small military bag, a pair of scissors, one plier, a pair of safety boots, approximately 200 grams of cannabis sativa seeds, one large spear, and one black catapult.

The suspects were all led and taken into custody at the Siaya police station pending further investigation.
