This follows widespread flooding that has destroyed property, uprooted families, and claimed lives.
More than 80,000 households have been forced to relocate throughout 33 impacted counties, and more than 70 lives have been lost thus far.

Red Cross and other emergency response teams have issued warnings, stating that if the heavy rains keep coming, the numbers will rise, and more rivers will swell.
As Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua announced that the national government is attempting to deploy helicopters to rescue those stranded and coordinate aid to those needing humanitarian aid, evacuation efforts from flood-prone areas have also begun.
