Following a fire incident, traders in Nyamira County's Ikonge area are tallying their losses.
North Mugirango police officers stated they are looking into the incident.
The fire destroyed several market businesses, leaving a path of devastation.
"On Sunday night, around nine o'clock at night, a fire started. When he received the distress call, we raced here," a trader told Waza News.

The county fire department's and the residents' combined efforts to extinguish the fire were ineffective.
"The fire brigade team arrived at the scene about 20 minutes after the fire broke out."
An investigation is underway, according to a police officer, to help determine what started the fire.
In the interim, traders have requested assistance in rebuilding their destroyed structures.
