A Moi Primary School Kabarak parent in Nakuru County has petitioned the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) to review his child’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results.

The parent Jesse Mbego Marita, argues the outcome of the school’s results released by the education ministry, did not satisfy the school’s performance from the previous years.

Through his lawyer, Danstan Omari, he wants KNEC to review the marking exercise to satisfy the criteria and performance of the school.

“The schools results as announced has dismayed parents and their children who in their performance anticipated better results,” he said.

Judge Chacha Mwita has since certified the petitioner's application as urgent, and he has ordered the petitioner's parent, acting through legal counsel, to serve KNEC, the Education CS, the Department of Child Labour, the Director of Children Services, and the Teachers Service Commission. The matter will be scheduled for an inter-party hearing on January 18, 2024.
