Rashid is accused of murdering two teenagers, Jamal Mohammed and Mohammed Dhair Kheri, on March 31, 2017, in Amal Plaza in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
Rashid was released on a Ksh.200,000 bond after pleading not guilty to the two counts of murder in front of Justice Diana Kavedza.
During the pre-trial hearing, Judge Kavedza advised the legal teams not to make the case into a drama.
"There will be no battles, only intellectual warfare." "Use your intellect to outwit the others," Judge Kavedza said.
On March 31, 2017, a video leaked on social media showing Rashid, dressed in civilian clothes, shooting two young people on the ground in the Eastleigh region.
Rashid was labeled the "killer cop" after the incident, which occurred in broad daylight and in the presence of witnesses.
