Eldas Member of Parliament Adan Keynan has referred to President William Ruto as an international star in recognition of his outstanding performance.

During an appearance on Citizen TV's Daybreak Show on Monday morning, Keynan cited President Ruto's speech to the European Parliament as a significant milestone that earned him a global standing ovation.

While congratulating President Ruto on receiving a standing ovation, the MP stated incorrectly that he (Ruto) "is the first president in the last three decades after Mandela to address the European Parliament," which is incorrect.

The Eldas MP also urged critics to recognize the positive strides made under the Kenya Kwanza government, asserting that it deserves time to implement its progressive agenda.

However, Kathiani MP Robert Mbui, also on the show, criticized the Kenya Kwanza government for what he termed as exploiting Kenyans financially.

Mbui expressed concern about excessive taxes, particularly on essential commodities such as fuel, and questioned the credibility of explanations for external factors influencing fuel prices.

The Deputy Minority Leader in the National Assembly also criticized President Ruto's frequent foreign trips, expressing skepticism about the Head of State's initiative to seek job opportunities for Kenyans abroad rather than focusing on local job creation.

"In his globetrotting, the President has told us that he will be looking for jobs for Kenyans, which now tells us that he will not create jobs as we expected." "That's a good sign, at least he confirmed it," he said.

President Ruto defended his frequent foreign trips during a Sunday church service in Kimende, Kiambu County, dispelling notions of luxury excursions.

Ruto emphasized his efforts to secure bilateral agreements, allowing more Kenyans to work abroad and alleviating unemployment.

"You may have heard that I have traveled to many parts of the world with a purpose; I am not a tourist." Because for this country to change, it must first change.
