Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday met Chinese ambassador to Kenya, Zhou Pingjian, ahead of the 60th anniversary celebrations to mark the Kenya-China relations.

The retired Head of State acknowledged the great partnership between the two nations and how it shaped the development agenda during his tenure.

On his part, Ambassador Zhou reiterated the great impact the relations nurtured in fostering strong economic, political, and cultural ties between Kenya and China.

The former president also gave the Chinese envoy an update on his current Peace and Security role in the continent. He underlined that peace is still the cornerstone of growth and that only when all of the continent's countries are at peace will Africa reach its full potential.

This Thursday, the 60th Kenya-China Celebrations will take place at the Global Trade Centre (GTC) Office Tower in Westlands, which H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta officially launched in December 2021.
