The government has assured Kenyans that it will disburse National Government Constituency Development Funds (NGCDF) funds in January to enable students to get bursaries to join Form One.
The delay in disbursement of NG-CDF recently caused an uproar among MPs last week, as several members of the National Assembly walked out of a parliamentary proceeding to protest .
Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu on Monday assured that the Kenya Kwanza government is putting modalities in place to release the NGCDF by next month.
Speaking when he led food distribution exercises in Suba South constituency Machogu said the government’s arrangements will see NGCDF funds released by January 18.
Additionally, he assured parents and students who recently received their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination results that form one selection is in the process and will be concluded this week.
He assured parents that all students who sat the examination would be placed in secondary schools and the government would apply the 100 per cent transition policy to enable pupils to move from primary to secondary schools.
