The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company on Thursday announced that water supply will be disrupted to a large portion of Nairobi for the next twenty-four hours.
In a statement, Nairobi Water announced an emergency shutdown of the Sasumua-Kabete pipeline from Friday, 15 December at 7 a.m. to Saturday, 16 December at 7 a.m.
"The aim of the shutdown is to facilitate repairs of major leaks along the pipeline which if not contained will lead to major landslides resulting to more damage to the pipeline.”
Some of the areas set to be affected are areas along Waiyaki Way road, James Gichuru Road, Dennis Pritt Road, Ngong Road, Langata Road, Peponi Road, Kikuyu Road, Naivasha Road, Mgagathi and Riverside Drive.
Other areas include Lavington, Kilimani, Westlands, Parklands, Loresho, Kangemi, Uthiru, Karen, Kawangware and Ritura.
