On Thursday, the Murang'a County Council of Eminent Persons met in Nairobi and announced support for the county's budget and the economic forum appointed by Governor Irungu Kang'ata.

Among those appointed to the budget and economic forum are some members of the eminent persons. The distinguished guests gathered at the Elysian Resort on Kiambu Road.

Royal Media Services Chairman Dr. S.K Macharia and Dr. Peter Munga were present and set to serve on the council.


The Murang'a Eminent Persons Council was established in 2015 to advocate for and foster cohesion and reconciliation among Murang'a County leaders. Council members pledged their support to Governor Irung'u Kangata.

The budget and economic forum members will advise the Governor on budgeting and economic development.

Businessman Jimna Mbaru, Dr. Kanyenje Gakombe, Dr. Felistus Njuguna, Professor Macharia Muthuure, Dr. Salome Gitoho, Prof. Zipporah Ng'ang'a, Prof. Olive Mugenda, Engineer John Mosonik, and Ambassador Mary Muthoni Gichohi are also members of the budget and economic forum.
