US President Joe Biden is reportedly safe after a car collided with a motorcade SUV that was part of his security detail.
Biden and First Lady Jill Biden had just left his campaign headquarters when the crash occurred. Jill Biden was also unharmed as a result of the incident.
According to the White House press pool, the Bidens had exited from the Biden-Harris 2024 offices in wet downtown Wilmington at 8:07 p.m. (0107 GMT) after having lunch with members of his re-election campaign.

According to the pool report, a silver automobile with Delaware license plates struck what seemed to be a motorcade SUV, sheltering the procession at the junction across from the entrance of the campaign headquarters.
After the collision, Secret Service agents were seen walking Biden to his car on television.
After stopping, security officials swiftly encircled the silver sedan, which had bumper damage. Agents surrounded the automobile and drew firearms on the driver, who was holding his hands up.
According to the witness, the Bidens returned safely to their house in Wilmington after the event.
