Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has expressed dissatisfaction with the government over what he claims is neglect shown to Kenyan MPs who attended the recently concluded East African Community (EAC) Parliamentary Games in Kigali, Rwanda.

The outspoken lawmaker took to social media to air his grievances, blasting President William Ruto's administration for treating the honorable members poorly and claiming they had difficulty paying their hotel bills in a foreign country despite promises that their financial needs would be met.

Salasya, standing outside what appeared to be a hotel, urged the President to put his house in order, shocked that even Members of Parliament would be humiliated.

"Tunachekelewa ati tumeshindwa kulipa ma hoteli baada ya kudanganywa they will send us money here in Rwanda. If they can lie to members of Parliament, what of the rest? Nimeboeka tu sana they could have told us earlier they won't send us money to sustain us here .Aibu kubwa kwa nchi, " he captioned the video.

In a lengthy statement, Salaysa claimed that Kenyan MPs were being dragged through the mud. He also directly challenged the President to tell Kenyans "the truth" and rein in his non-performing Cabinet Secretaries.

"Parliamentarians want to be subjected to aibu." Wewe nchi iko sawa na wewe unasema. How long can we continue to live on a lie? Wewe ndio Baba wa Taifa, President. You must assume command and control. You must inform Kenyans of the truth. The President's problem is that he never tells people the truth. "We need a national conversation about where we're going," he raged.

"Saa hii tuko hapa Rwanda. Polisi wangenishika mimi. President, watu walikuchagua uwafanyie kazi. Fire your cabinet ministers ambao hawafanyi kazi!"

The EAC Parliamentary Games started on December 4 and lasted 12 days.

On Wednesday, the Kenyan contingent in Kigali, Rwanda, was ecstatic after the men's and women's volleyball teams and the men's basketball teams all won their respective matches.

The other teams in the 13th edition of the games were Rwanda, Uganda, South Sudan, Burundi, Tanzania, and the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).

Kenya's men's volleyball team extended their winning streak in the tournament with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, and 25-20) victory over Rwanda at Ecole Notre Dame Gymnasium, moving them closer to the championship.
