Omar Mwinyi, a member of parliament from Changamwe, lost his wife Rukiya Khatib.
It is reported that Rukiya unexpectedly became unwell on Monday night and was rushed to Pandya hospital, where she succumbed to an overdose and passed away.
The family is getting ready to bury her today at her Portreitz home, where her body has been brought.
After the 1 p.m. prayer, Rukiya will be buried in the Mwingo area, according to Ibrahim Kilai, the MP's personal assistant.
Leaders have not stopped lamenting Rukiya.
Tuesday morning, Mwinyi received a condolence message from the Orange Democratic Party (ODM), which said, "We pray to Allah SWT to grant you peace during this trying times and commiserate with you and your family at this very difficult moment of grief."
May she rest in eternal peace.
