Safarilink has partnered with Surf Air Mobility to electrify its Cessna caravan fleet fully by in a gradual process to be completed by 2027.

According to Safarilink Chief Executive Officer(CEO), Alex Avedi, going clean is part of the airline’s ambition to sustainability and wildlife conservation.

“The implementation of Surf Air Mobility’s electric powertrain technology aims to reduce noise and minimize the climate impact of our flights, ensuring a sustainable and immersive experience of our region’s incredible ecosystem,” he said in a communiqué.

The CEO emphasized the need to preserve the natural beauty of the regions in which it operates, saying the partnership positions Kenya at the forefront of a global movement towards sustainable aviation.

Further, he said that the country currently boasts 91 percent carbon-free power generation.
