A City lawyer, John Ndegwa, has moved to court to stop the new National Social Security Fund (NSSF) deductions announced last week.
In an urgent application, he wants the court to issue a mandatory injunction to halt the board from implementing the decision as contained in the advertisements dated 12th January 2024.
He says the increment of the NSSF deductions comes at a time when Kenyans are faced with social economic crisis and the court should take serious consideration and issue the orders sought.
Further, Ndegwa argues that both civil servants and those working in the private sector earn very low salaries which cannot be further deducted.
He has sued the board, the Labour Cabinet Secretary, and the Attorney General.
