Kenyans disapproved of the politician's harsh treatment on social media following the dramatic and eventual arrest of an MCA from Machakos.
Hon. Boniface Musyimi Maeke, the MCA for Kalama Ward, was pulled and dragged by Inspectorate Askaris while he was sobbing. With a scream, Boniface claimed they were attempting to break his leg.
He can be seen in a video shouting, "wamenivunja miguu" (they have broken my legs), while pointing at a man amid the chaos with his right leg on the wheel of a county vehicle.

According to The Machakos Star, Maeke had gone to support his colleague Douglas Musyoka, a Massi Ward MCA, who was detained on Wednesday, January 31, allegedly for failing to present paperwork authorizing the building of his residential home in Machakos town.
After being pushed from the courtroom, Boniface was violently taken into custody and driven away by more than six men, but he refused to get into the county cars.
In an SPM Buzz video, the MCA is lying on the ground while a man undies his pants, revealing the politician.
A large group of men demonstrate against the askari, accusing them of dehumanizing the Kalama Ward MCA. Many men can be heard chanting, "Hii ni aibu hii, unafanya hivi kwa nini." (This is shameful; why are you doing this).
In a chaotic scene, the council askari turns to face the confused MCA as he walks away.
