Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management has announced that the National Youth Service (NYS) recruitment exercise will occur from February 5 to 9, 2024.

In a letter to NYS Director General James Tembur, CS Kuria advocated for a thorough distribution process across all wards to ensure transparency and equitability.

"As we approach the National Youth Service (NYS) Recruitment Exercise scheduled to take place from the 5th to 9th February 2024, it is imperative to ensure a fair and transparent process in the distribution of recruits across different wards," he said.

"This meticulous distribution has been designed to promote equality and fairness, reflecting the essence of the NYS in fostering national unity."

He also listed several guidelines during the recruitment process, including ensuring that the schedule is distributed to all stakeholders involved, emphasizing the importance of maintaining integrity and professionalism, adhering to the schedule, reporting discrepancies, and establishing regular monitoring and reporting mechanisms.   

Kuria stated that choosing this way to disperse recruits will promote public trust and equity.

"This exhaustive approach to the distribution of recruits will contribute to the overall success of the NYS recruitment exercise and reinforce public trust in the fairness of the process," he said.
