Dr. Robert Monda, the deputy governor of Kisii, has been the subject of an impeachment notice.

Wycliffe Siocha, the MCA for the Ichuni ward, presented the motion, reportedly signed by 51 of the 69 MCAs.

The notice of motion's mover charges the deputy governor with violating the constitution.

He stated it would preempt the anticipated impeachment motion, but he did not disclose the charges against the deputy governor.

Carren Magara, the MCA nominee, stated that the impeachment procedure would be open and lawful.

The MCA for Nyacheki Ward, Naftal Onkoba, has expressed support for the motion and urged Governor Arati not to interfere with the proceedings.
