A form one student from Mobachi Secondary School in Suna West has died after she drowned while crossing River Nyabsongo in Migori County.
Confirming the incident, the area Assistant Chief Samwel Otieno said the girl was crossing the river through a makeshift bridge when he slipped off.
The incident saw the 18-year-old girl swept by the raging waters of River Nyabsongo.
Further, he said they suspect that the girl suffered an epileptic seizure while crossing the wooden bridge.
A student crossing the bridge spotted the girl's body and raised the alarm.

Locals arrived at the scene and retrieved the body. The girl's body was taken to Migori Level Four Hospital mortuary.
