Busia Senator Okiya Omtata was involved in a minor car accident near Ojolla on the Kisumu-Busia road.
The senator's saloon car, driving towards Busia, was struck by a truck ascending the Ojola high slope near Maseno.
According to reports, the truck went upward when it had a brake problem and began rolling back, colliding with Omtata's automobile on the right side.

The Nyanza Regional Traffic Boss, Allan Mwangi, verified the incident by saying the Senator's vehicle was slightly damaged due to the reverse contact.
Mwangi stated that the Senator was not hurt in the collision and continued his route. Both vehicles were driven to the Maseno Police Station for additional investigation.
